Denver is a very arty city. A number of public art pieces can be found throughout downtown and the Denver Art Museum is massive. I only had the chance to check out the contemporary and modern floors, but I was, well, floored. They most memorable piece is an installation of a restaurant full of tables set for dinner all painted red. The floor, the walls, the vases on the tables, the chairs. Everything in the exhibit was red. Except for tons of grey foxes at play throughout the frozen scene. Leaping from table to table, sitting on the tables and chairs. It was fascinating. We also had the chance to check out the Museum of Contemporary Art. The collection is small but very interesting. But it’s the building that steals the show. The massive walls, the rooftop garden, the mod café, the angles and halls and natural building materials made me think that I would have had just as good of a time there had the place been completely empty.
