Tarfest: Los Angeles’ Free/All Ages Annual Music & Art Festival Returns to La Brea Tar Pits on Saturday, September 21st
August 30, 2012 – Los Angeles, CA – LAUNCH LA AND 88.5 FM KCSN present Los Angeles’ 11th annual music and art festival TARFEST 2013, which will take place at the historic La Brea Tar Pits on Saturday, September 21st. The FREE, ALL AGES festival will feature music, live painting, food, drinks and more. Fun for the whole family!
Los Angeles’ premiere music and arts festival, TARFEST 2013 will celebrate its 11th year on September 21st from 2:00PM – 8:00PM with local indie-rock bandsSaint Motel, Nightmare Air, Echosmith, Irontom and Tapioca and the Flea and live artist painting from Greg “CRAOLA” Simkins, AXIS andWilliam Wray and sculpture by David O. Johnson,. The festival will include a Lagunitas Biergarten, California Wine Bar, Gourmet Food Trucks, outdoor sculptures, The Poem Store, Japanese Foundation Los Angeles tent with Calligraphy, Origami and Samurai Photos, interactive arts activities with the Petersen Automotive Museum, among other vendors and activities for adults and kids.
Excavating future culture on The Miracle Mile, the annual TARFEST festival utilizes Los Angeles’ historic Tar Pits and green space to unite the local community in celebration of the city’s burgeoning music and arts scene by showcasing some of the most talented up-and-coming bands and artists. In past years, TARFEST has brought together thousands of Angelenos with performances from bands like Blondefire, The Steelwells, Helena, Everest among others.
